Go Below The Surface

We've talked about figuring out where you want to go and about assessing our current situation. What are we coming into this with? What’s our current state?

Now that you have a decent idea of where you are and where you want to go, it’s time to figure out why you want what you want.  

Of all of the exercises and activities we do in The Perfect Fitness Framework, this is easily one of the most important. We’re going to use something called the 5 Whys

The 5 Whys exercise gets us to the root, the source, the real reason why we want something.

It doesn't settle for surface level answers and forces you to dig deep (in the best way possible).

When asked "why" we're doing something, very rarely do we give the real answer from the get. By peeling back the layers, we uncover what this all really means to us.

Why is this so important?

It’s critical to know what your goals, vision, and direction mean to you. When you do, you'll have a powerful motivator that will help you feel empowered and encouraged on your best days and your worst.

We all have rough days where nothing feels like it's going right. These are the days you'll feel discouraged and frustrated and about ready to give up.

Remembering WHY you started and why you want to go where you want to go helps keep us focused and motivated. And even when it doesn't help keep us motivated and focused, at the very least, it prevents us from quitting. And that's often more than enough.
